There are three things Robbie and I ask about when looking at travel agent CRMs:
Tech can be overwhelming, and some of this may sound like a lot, but we’re going to try to break this down so you can think about these things in your business.
– How do they secure their platform?
– How do we know our client’s data remains secure?
– Are they compliant with any of the major regulatory standards, i.e., SOC 2, PCI-DSS, etc?
– A “no” to standardized compliance doesn’t mean we wouldn’t consider working with them, but we DO want to know how they are securing their platform, and also maintaining a standard of uptime (99.99% or above, this is called the “4 nines” standard).
– How are they investing in it?
– Do they make it friendly for me as the user? How?
– AI integration?
– Do they have “native integrations” with other applications, like email marketing platforms, SMS, phone systems, etc.? An example would be Flodesk and its new direct integration with Canva.
– Do they allow integration with other applications?
– Is any of this built in?
– Can you integrate with a tool like “Zapier” or “Make” so we can connect our systems together and set triggers to automate communication, internal workflows, etc?
You don’t have to know and do ALL of this in your travel agent CRM, but our goal is for you to start thinking about these things, NOT JUST ASSUMING EVERYTHING IS SECURE inside all of the various travel agent CRMs.
